I really enjoyed this piece. This is a struggle all of us Christian writers go through. Probably routinely, if my story has any evidence to the broader group.

Most important for me to know and resonate with when writing for God, is to write only for God. If he wants to bless you with more views, Great. If God wants only a few to read your lines, even better. Because he's giving you time to grow as a writer before "flopping" on the night stage. We all need growth. We all need Jesus everyday. Follow him and you find succes, maybe not today but eternally

I agree with your statement that writing an article for God is so much more fulfilling then writing for an audience you don't even know.

This article resonated and aligned with my heart perfectly.

Why? you might ask?

It's simple, because my soul needed to hear God's words of nourishment and encouragement.

Just writing without any bolder molders blocking my headspace with, should have, could have, but didn't have my writing, or better yet, my words were trying to get out of my Head space but my world of writing just couldn't find my way through the darkness to find a little flicker of light.

At least I said it out loud.

Accomplished!

I finally decluttered my Headspace/attic.

I should have read this article this morning. The 1st perfect article of positive encouragement and empowering influence and my day would have been AMAZING 👏🏻

I probably need to read this daily. (And Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward" (NIV).

When I need to read certain Scriptures daily (which is every day, but which ones I need vary with the seasons of my life), I print them out on an index card and blu-tac them to the bottom of my computer screen, where I sit far too many hours of the day.

Years ago, when I got laid off, I printed dozens of them and blu-tacked them all over my house in the places I spent a lot of time in: the kitchen sink, the bathroom mirror, the dining table, etc.

Give it a try?

I resonate with this post so much. I try to post online consistently because I feel that I can inspire or motivate at least one person. I feel that is my purpose in life.

To not share what I know with others would be selfish of me and not very Christ like. I never want to disappoint God.

I believe the only way you could disappoint God is by intentionally refusing to allow Him to live His life through you. In that case, all we really need to do is get out of the way. It really takes the pressure off.

Prayer before writing everyday, I say, “God, please get me out of the way.”

This has been such a timely message for me. Thank you for writing it. I’ve been struggling with what to write and who to aim it at - but you make an excellent point here. I just need to get out of the way ☺️

I truly enjoyed reading this. It's true, we can get lost in the algorithms and worrying over performance vs staying focused on our true purpose and what God is leading us to do.

Ultimately as you write for God, you write for the right audience!

Thank you so much for this article. This really aligned with my heart as a Christian fiction author. I have been wrestling with some of my book ideas and wondering if they'll reach many readers. But then I realised that I was focusing on the wrong thing, and I need to let go and let God do His job. Submitting to God's will for our writing and trusting that He knows best. His plan is always better and bigger than our plans.

Your article was so encouraging to me today. My husband and I are writing articles on our journey as a caregiver and care receiver. We are almost ready to post them on a blog recently designed for us. I have questioned whether or not our audience will be too small. Today you reminded me that God is our audience, and if only on person needs to read what I have written, the glory will go to God, not to me the writer.

I love this. I needed this!

I've been struggling on a publication last night. "How will they interpret this, what will they think about my experience.. etc."

Thank you

I have enjoyed this message. I really feel encouraged by the message personally. As a growing writer I have always felt torn between expressing my faith through my writing and sticking to what is expected of a modern writer. It is always important for a Christian to not go against his conscience to gain people’s approbation. Thank you

This was so helpful and timely. I'm not necessarily a Christian writer, but I want to ensure that in everything I do, God is visible and given the honor and glory. For me, it's been a question of how do I show His grace, love, and mercy in my work and writing. This piece helped me to put a few things into perspective — especially when it comes to clarifying my purpose and asking why am I writing this? ...Thanks so much for sharing!

Great Post. I prefer to think of myself as a writer who is Christian rather than a Christian writer. I trust God to use my writing as he sees fit, and I am always thrilled when he does, often in ways that surprise me. As for what I write, I try not to think about an audience but it is hard not to do so. I do try to turn off the inner critical editor who tries to restrict what I write.
