Thank you. It is not usual to come across a believer who understands their identity in Christ and the truth of living a faith-rest life in Christ. I am blessed more by your right dividing of the word of truth. It gives me hope ❤️
Wow....this was so good. For the longest gest time, I have struggled with writing content that God puts in my heart, and that also works in tandem with the algorithm. It is an exhausting journey trying to figure out where to land in the midst of all this. Finally, I decided I was simply going to obey God and first write what's on my heart and worry about editing to fit the algorithm demands and affect readability later (before I post). This was so timely
I have wrestled with writing for an audience that would pay and obeying God and writing for His Glory. Not a single one of the secular ideas I’ve tried took off. So now I’m here, feeling unqualified to write about living in Christ. Your words have confirmed my calling and given me practical insight on how to do this calling. Thank you.
These are really helpful thoughts, thank you for sharing! I've been thinking about these things a lot lately as I weigh up whether it's worth trying to build a substack audience. Freelance writing is my job, both fiction and nonfiction, Christian content and secular, and it's such an encouragement to read about others who are seeing these things as complementary rather than oppositional.
I think my wall that I had to overcome was that what I write about is such a niche area (astrophotography), and then from there wanting to involve my spiritual growth, I again felt I would alienate my audience even more. However, God has given me a gift to capture the night sky in a way that shows off his glory. Why would I deny speaking to others about how amazing his creation is, and then also how much it has healed me in my failures? This is not what He wants for me. So now I just write, I will trust that those that want to find my work on OurNightSky find it for a reason. Great read Grant keep up the good work.
God bless you sweet sis. This was wholesome for me and buttressed what the Lord has been impressing on my heart and how He's been shifting my mind on what He wants. Thank you for echoing the heart of the father. This was so so wholesome and timely. God bless you sweet sis.
I agree with you completely. There's always the pull between trusting God to do everything He can (which is everything) and helping out. Or not. I figure it's like being in a rowboat in the middle of the lake. We want to get to shore. Do we call out to God and sit there? Or do we pick up the oars and row. I think the answer is to use the gifts He's given us, and trust Him to use them as He wants them to be used. Work hard, but don't sweat the small stuff. Figuring out what the small stuff is, is the hard part.

Thank you for another encouraging post. As the late Charles Stanley often said, "Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him."
Yes, amen to that!

God created it all. In Him opposition is constantly being converted to opportunity to complete His kingdom
“Writing became both communion and communication.”
This is gold!
Thanks so much Brandon!
