Thank you for the companionship. This resonates especially when you're in the throws of building something. There is tension between wanting your message heard and also knowing you don't write for an audience, rather for connection. It should be simple, we obey and He builds ... may we all remember the simplicity when it feels complicated.

“We obey and He builds”. Thank you for this reminder.

I went through this last year. I became exhausted with performing when I'd teach or write. One day I said," Lord this is all you

I surrender the outcome in your hands" and after that the burden lifted. You know exchange the heavy yolk of control and performance. He is my algorithm.

Amen! I love that! “He is my algorithm”. Isn’t that the truth that He can break through all that to do what He wants to do.

Very freeing. I felt a weight lifted as I read. Draw me closer, God.

The reminder that spiritual dryness may not be failure but invitation is deeply freeing. Sometimes the well feels empty not because God has stopped giving, but because He’s calling us back from producing for Him to simply being with Him. Writing—and faith itself—flows from presence, not pressure. Thank you for naming the quiet truth many writers feel but rarely admit.

Ah, in this you spoke about "simply sitting at His feet" ... hit the nail on the head!

I have literally just written to introduce myself in your first post, & the author I mentioned, Jennifer Rees Larcombe, wrote a book called Beyong Healing whereby she was confined to a wheelchair for about 8 years before God miraculously healed her ...

One day, as her family wheeled her to the top of an area where they could venture around but she could see them, they kissed her goodbye & said something like: "Enjoy watching us!"

Jen loved her big family (which included numerous foster children!) but she was cross with God at that point & said, "Lord. I don't want to just enjoy watching them, I want to Be with them! There's so much more I want to do FOR You [& up till that point, she did A LOT!!] if only I could walk again [erm ... my paraphrase from memory!] ....

.... at that point, she felt the Lord saying to her, "I don't want you to DO for me, I just want you to BE with me" ....

Well, your article has just reminded me of that once again!

Blessings ❣️

Ameeeenn!!!🙏🏾✨ I really needed this reminder. It also feels like an echo from the Holy Spirit, as this week He sat me down to check my heart on why I am choosing to share my work. Is it for His glory or mine? Am I trying to build His kingdom or my own?

It is a heartbreaking moment when the Holy Spirit calls you out on your stuff. But I also thought about the other side , which is His fierce love and protection for me and others. God wants creatives with integrity.

Creatives who create from a pure place, not a place of using others for their own gain.

I can say. I have a lot to unlearn in this area as I’m so used to everyone say “consistency is key, consistency is key”. But I take confidence in knowing I’m not in this alone. I’m in it with Jesus and He’s teaching me AND holding me accountable every step of the way!💛🙏🏾🥹

Yes and Amen! To live a life without shoulds. Without all the pressure we put on ourselves to perform instead of just being. To let Him guide our steps, truly guide them. My prayer is that I find that place sometime very soon.

This is EXACTLY what God has been sharing with me and this year He did give me a word for the year. It is behold. Thank you for sharing this, it is such confirmation for my heart.

Brilliantly simple Godly wisdom. Mary chose the better and so ought we, in all our endeavors. Thank you for the insightful and clear-minded sharing from the heart.

I love this, "But somewhere in the midst of all that good activity, you can look up and realize you’ve been so busy working in His name that you’ve forgotten to simply sit at His feet," cause at His feet is what keeps me. Blessings!

When I write something that feels like it’s from me instead of Him, I can’t post it. That small act of obedience leads me back to His presence. I’m often surprised that in my silence, new readers still find my work. My Loving Father gets the glory because any growth that I see is because of Him not because I tried to make it happen. Thank you for the constant reminder that He is the Source.

I do my best to have no computer time or phone time before time with God. Everything inelse the day loses its desperate urgency.
